Cover Story

Ramping the 0.13µm Generation
The industry's technology-driven transitions to 0.13 and 0.10µm are exceptional because of the simultaneous move to 300 mm wafers, an economically motivated transition. In light of remaining process uniformity and automation challenges, several device manufacturers will transfer their more mature, 0.18µm processes from 200 to 300 mm first to minimize risk.
