Laura Peters has been promoted to the position of editor-in-chief of Semiconductor International (SI) magazine, succeeding Peter Singer.
Peters, formerly lead technical editor of SI, brings to the position more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including 14 years crafting articles for print and electronic publication. She is an editorial expert in yield improvement methods and interconnect processes.
“Laura has a combination of superior technical knowledge and clear communication skills that are unusual in our business,” said John Bold, publisher of SI. “Her relationship with key leaders and organizations will continue to advance Semiconductor International’s role as the industry’s leading technical authority.”
“I look forward to this challenge to expand SI’s service to our readers and clients,” Peters said. “Engineers and managers in the industry are always thirsting for the latest technical information — how the latest Intel chip is made, when a new flash process will be brought in, and how new technologies will impact the market. As the leading publication, we will continue to provide that coverage first.”
Prior to joining SI, Peters worked several years as an industry consultant and a yield engineer for AT&T Bell Labs. She holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
