Asyst Connectivity Software Supports 64-bit Operating Systems

Staff -- Semiconductor International, 1/28/2008 7:29:00 AM

Asyst Technologies Inc. (Fremont, Calif.) said its SECS/GEM tool connectivity products have been upgraded to support 64-bit computing architectures.

Equipment companies are using 64-bit operating systems, in part to gain access to real-time data on their new tools. The 64-bit architectures harness more processing power and usable memory, driving the need for upgraded software from Asyst’s equipment connectivity and data management products. They include isolation systems, work-in-process materials management, substrate-handling robotics, automated transport and loading systems, and connectivity automation software.

Jim Holliday, general manager for Asyst’s productivity solutions group, said, “Asyst has expanded its software product portfolio to address this industry shift by ensuring that our SECS/GEM software products are fully compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.”
