Key Points:
The value of new fab announcements has been growing since September of last year.
The 3-month moving average of new fab announcements is nearing $5B.
As of the end of May, 26 new fab projects valued at $22B had been announced. Work is scheduled to begin on all but two of these projects this year.
$10B of these projects, or 46%, are 300 mm projects.
We expect work to start on 46 new fabs or fab lines this year.
The total value of new fab projects begun this year will break all records, exceeding $40B.
