SEC/N Thoughts

Gary Alexander, President, SEC/N -- Semiconductor International, 3/1/2002

SEMICON China will be held March 26 and 27 in Shanghai. SEC/N, with the support of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), will be exhibiting in Booth #226. Many SEC/N member companies and other SEC/N "affiliates" will be there to participate.

At SEMICON China last year, the interest in used equipment and SEC/N was very high. Since then, the China used-equipment market has continued to flourish and grow. In response to this opportunity, SEC/N has been working closely with the U.S. and Chinese governments, as well as with other associations and Cahners Business Information, to determine the best way to more effectively integrate China's electronics companies into the international used-equipment marketplace.

SEC/N will host a conference on the international used-equipment marketplace March 28 at the Rainbow Hotel in Shanghai. Companies from both within and outside of China that are interested in buying and selling used equipment in China are invited to attend. Space will be limited, so individuals wishing to participate are encouraged to register early. There will be a registration fee for the conference, which will include lunch.

The morning sessions will feature presentations on the international used-equipment marketplace, including SEC/N's recently defined "Business Practices Guidelines of the International Marketplace." The afternoon sessions will include breakout workshops on buying and selling used equipment in China, where attendees can roll up their sleeves and get involved in turning challenges into opportunities.

For registration and more information regarding the conference, please contact SEC/N by phone (1-480-348-0142) or e-mail (email@secninc.com), or visit www.secninc.com.
