DuPont Photomasks Buy H-Ps Photomask Manufacturing Unit

US Flag DuPont Photomasks, Inc. (DPI) (Round Rock, Texas), and Hewlett-Packard Company (Palo Alto, Calif.) have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding for DPI to buy H-P's photomask manufacturing organization, which is part of the Integrated Circuit Business Division. DPI will be H-P's strategic photomask supplier, and the parties plan to enter into a long-term agreement to address H-P's ongoing mask needs. DPI will purchase H-P's photomask production equipment and deploy pattern generation, process, inspection and repair systems worldwide. H-P employees working in the photomask manufacturing organization will be offered positions by DPI. Terms were not disclosed.
