Brooks Acquires Domain Manufacturing

Brooks Automation Inc. (Chelmsford, Mass.) acquired all the assets of Domain Manufacturing Corp., which has a base of engineering data analysis and advanced process control software in the semiconductor and related industries. The acquisition gives Brooks a comprehensive suite of MES solutions, which include data analysis and advanced process development capabilities, and which can transfer process learning within a company and between companies.

'We expect that Domain's comprehensive process development solution, Starfire, would offer our customers the opportunity to accelerate process learning and greatly shorten manufacturing optimization cycles by integrating the MES with the process development system,' said Robert J. Therrien, president and CEO of Brooks. Brooks can now provide processing engineering for complete process development in factory automation.
