Ultratech Acquires ISI

US Ultratech Stepper (San Jose, Calif.) signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Integrated Solutions Inc. (ISI), a privately held manufacturer of i-line and DUV reduction lithography systems based in Tewksbury, Mass., and Austin, Texas. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

ISI is providing advanced i-line reduction and DUV lithography technology to Ultratech Stepper, which complements its existing 1x stepper and e-beam technologies. Ultratech also gains engineering depth in scattering-angle limited projection electron-beam lithography (SCALPEL) and advanced reticle stage technology.

Several of ISI's senior management, sales, engineering and manufacturing personnel plan to remain with Ultratech and its subsidiary that purchased the ISI assets. The acquired sales, engineering and manufacturing organizations will continue to operate in the Massachusetts location, while the sales and support offices will be integrated into Ultratech's existing infrastructure worldwide. ISI's administrative and financial organizations will also be integrated into the existing Ultratech organization.
