Hyundai Stops Scottish Fab Project

The South Korean economic situation racked up one more victim, as Hyundai announced it is shelving plans for the $3.4 billion fab it was planning to build in Fife, Scotland. It is now believed that the fab, which was expected to create 2000 jobs in the areas, with an equal amount among other companies that would have supplied it, may never be built. According to UK government sources, Hyundai explained that the current Korean economic crisis has forced it to curb its expansion plans. AB
