Citing “differing views regarding the future strategy of the company,” the supervisory board of SUSS MicroTec AG (Garching, Germany) has relieved Stefan Schneidewind from his position as CEO. The board immediately placed Christian Schubert on the management board, saying that he would take over from Schneidewind “until a new CEO has been appointed.”

Schubert has held executive positions at several companies, including Kontron, Congatec and Intica Systems, the company said. With >730 employees worldwide, SUSS MicroTec sells process and testing solutions for advanced packaging, MEMS, nanotechnology, compound semiconductor, silicon-on-insulator and 3-D interconnects. Products include mask aligners, spin and spray coaters, microlenses, wafer bonders, and testing solutions.

The company divested its device bonder division last year. Recently, the management board considered “a possible separation” of its Dresden, Germany-based test systems division, but in August said it had decided against such a move.
